This comparison of AI social media schedulers includes products that also run Dub affiliate programs (Postiz, Buffer, Testimonial). We were not paid to rank them. As of 17 August 2026 we have no partner links, so every URL is the official product page. Rankings follow queue depth, approval workflows, and failed-publish recovery, not commission rates.
Buffer Team is $10 per channel per month on yearly billing.
That is the cheapest public plan we opened on 17 August 2026 that names a content approval workflow and documents failed-publish recovery, so it leads this ranking of eight best AI social media schedulers. Calendar booking (Cal.com, Calendly, round-robin, timezones) is a different product: best AI scheduling tools. Recorders sit in best AI UGC video tools, email sits in best newsletter platforms, and the calendar walkthrough is how to turn a demo into a week of posts.
Which AI social media scheduler should you buy in 2026?
Buy Buffer Team if a human must approve; buy Buffer Essentials if you only need a queue that retries.
buffer.com/pricing.md lists Free at 3 channels and 10 posts each, Essentials at $5/channel/mo yearly, and Team at $10/channel/mo yearly. Later Growth is the visual-first approval pick. Postiz is the API pick. Testimonial.to stays in the table so the category miss is visible.

How do you recover a failed social publish?
Refresh the expired channel token first.
Buffer will not retry the failed post for you.
The refresh article is unusually plain: if the token stays stale, every scheduled and new post on that channel fails, refreshing does not delete the queue, and it also does not republish anything, which is why we used that article plus buffer.com/pricing.md as the recovery path on 17 August 2026.
- Open Channels and click Refresh on the red account.
- Accept every permission prompt. Skipping one is how Instagram and LinkedIn Pages keep failing.
- For Facebook Pages, log in as the Page admin. For LinkedIn Pages you need Super Admin.
- On each failed item, click Retry Now to publish immediately, or Re-add to Queue to take the next slot on your posting schedule.
- If Refresh is not enough, revoke the app on the network (X Apps and sessions, Instagram manage_access, TikTok Apps & services) and reconnect.
Postiz official docs say the same thing in different words: reconnect does not auto-retry. Reschedule the red-ring posts. Later's own pricing FAQ adds a third failure: Instagram and TikTok can be notification publish, which is a push you have to tap in-app.

buffer:
auto_retry_after_refresh: false
retry_now: publish immediately
re_add_to_queue: next slot on posting schedule
postiz:

action: reschedule
later:

Which schedulers have a real approval workflow?
Five channels with a human in the loop cost $50/mo on Buffer Team yearly.
Later Growth is $37.50/mo billed yearly for 16 profiles and two users. SocialBee Accelerate is $49/mo ($490/yr) for 10 profiles. Postiz Team is $39/mo for 10 channels, and the preview link does not lock publishing.
That $5-to-$10 jump is the whole Buffer upgrade: Essentials still has one user and no approvals.
Later Starter at $18.75/mo yearly is one user and 30 posts per profile, and Growth is the first Later card that names "Internal & External collaboration and approvals." SocialBee Bootstrap at $29/mo is the same one-user trap; the named Post approval system starts on Accelerate.
Postiz Standard at $29/mo has no teammates at all. Comments on a preview URL are a conversation, not a state. docs.postiz.com/cloud/plans also disagrees with the marketing card on Standard AI images (20 in docs, none on the 17 August 2026 pricing page). Trust the commercial page until they match.
Typefully comments and Slack notifications start on Business at $18/mo per social set yearly. Hypefury's FAQ lets you invite a VA. Neither page names a lock.
- Buffer Team: "Content approval workflows", $10/channel/mo yearly, unlimited users.
- Later Growth: internal and external approvals, $37.50/mo yearly, 180 posts/profile.
- SocialBee Accelerate: post approval system, $49/mo, 10 profiles.
- Postiz any plan: unlisted preview link, no approved flag, Standard has zero seats.
If legal or a client must sign off before anything ships, skip Standard, Essentials, Bootstrap, and Creator.
Which tools keep a solo queue cheap?
Buffer Free holds three channels and ten posts each; Typefully Free holds ten posts a month.
That is enough to turn a demo into a week of posts if the week is five items, not fifty. Paid solo queues then split by network.
Publer Professional starts at $5/mo for one account. Free Publer is three accounts, ten pending posts each, and no X. Business is $10 plus recycle. The help article was last updated 30 July 2026.
Typefully Creator is $99/year, annual only, 1,000 posts a month, one social set. The live widget on 17 August 2026 showed that $99 figure next to "Annual billing only." It is an X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon editor. It is not an Instagram grid.
Hypefury Flexible is $6/mo per channel. Full is $19/mo. The official FAQ is blunt: "Nope! Hypefury no longer supports ๐ : ("
Wrong product for X.
Voiceover and avatar clips are a different cart: AI video voice tools.
| Solo plan | Networks | Queue cap | Cost | | Buffer Free | 11 networks on the pricing page | 10 posts/channel, 3 channels | $0 | | Buffer Essentials | Same | Unlimited (fair use 5,000) | $5/channel/mo yearly | | Typefully Free | X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon | 10 posts/month | $0 | | Typefully Creator | Same | 1,000 posts/month | $99/year | | Publer Free | 3 accounts, no X | 10 pending/account | $0 | | Publer Professional | All, including X | Unlimited | from $5/mo | | Hypefury Flexible | Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, IG, TikTok | Unlimited schedule | $6/channel/mo |
Is Testimonial.to a social media scheduler?
No, Testimonial.to stores quotes for a Wall of Love and cannot queue Instagram.
testimonial.to/pricing on 17 August 2026 sold Free ($0, 2 videos plus 10 text), Starter ($25/mo yearly, unlimited text, still 2 videos), Ultimate ($50/mo/space), and Ultimate+ ($95/mo/space). Those are collection and embed limits, not scheduled-post slots, and none of the four cards mention Instagram, LinkedIn, or a queue.
A Dub program sitting next to Buffer and Postiz does not make the product a scheduler. Keep it in the rank table so a buyer searching "AI social" does not confuse a widget with a queue.
# Testimonial.to, official 17 Aug 2026
schedules_instagram: false
schedules_linkedin: false
wall_of_love_embed: true
starter_usd_yearly: 25
videos_on_starter: 2If you want the quote on social, paste it into Buffer. If you want the quote on a landing page, buy Testimonial.
When should you skip a paid AI social media scheduler?
Skip the paid plan when native Meta or LinkedIn already holds a queue under ten posts.
Five other stops, in order.
- The work is a demo reel, not a caption. Buy a recorder from best AI UGC video tools, then drop the file into Buffer.
- The work is an email issue. That is best newsletter platforms, not a social calendar.
- You need a headless CMS with social shares bolted on. Start at best headless CMS 2026, not Postiz WordPress.
- You are shopping agent frameworks because Postiz has a Smart Agent. That buy is agent frameworks.
- The real problem is ranking the blog, not posting the snippet. Use SEO tools.
Native Instagram and TikTok schedulers also win when you need in-app music and stickers. Later says so: notification publish exists because the API cannot finish those posts.
Five channels on Buffer Team yearly is $50/mo. Five channels on Postiz Standard is $29/mo with no teammates.
Count seats first.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best AI social media scheduler for a small team?
Buffer Team at $10 per channel per month yearly, if the team must approve before publish. Later Growth at $37.50/mo yearly is the pick when the calendar is Instagram-first and clients approve from outside the login. Postiz Team at $39/mo adds seats and RSS but keeps approval as a preview link.
Does Buffer retry failed posts automatically?
No. Buffer's refresh article states it will not automatically retry failed posts after you reconnect a channel. Use Retry Now to publish immediately or Re-add to Queue for the next scheduled slot. Postiz documents the same no-auto-retry rule on its channel-manage page.
Is Postiz cheaper than Buffer?
On five channels, Postiz Standard is $29/mo and Buffer Essentials yearly is $25/mo ($5 times 5). Buffer Team yearly is $50/mo for those five. Postiz wins when you need 34 networks, an API, or self-host. Buffer wins when you need a named approval workflow on a public price.
Can Later auto-publish Instagram posts?
Yes, for Instagram business and creator accounts, per Later's 17 August 2026 pricing FAQ. TikTok business, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Snapchat also auto-publish. Instagram and TikTok also offer notification publishing, which is a push you tap inside the native app.
Is Hypefury still an X scheduler?
No. Hypefury's own FAQ on 17 August 2026 says it no longer supports X. Flexible is $6/mo per remaining channel (Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok). Typefully or Buffer is the X queue.
