Best AI Website Builders: 8 Compared, 2 I'd Publish

We have applied, or will apply, to partner programs for some tools named here. Links today are official product pages. If a link later becomes compensated, it will be marked rel=sponsored. Dub enrollment is still 0; partner URLs do not exist yet.

Framer Basic is $10/mo on yearly billing, pulled from framer.com/pricing on 17 August 2026. That is the first number that matters if you want the best AI website builders for a one-page agency site: hero, three service cards, one form.

Custom domain is not on Free.

I opened eight product surfaces the same day. Two scores only: time to a publishable URL, and whether the AI draft can be edited without fighting the canvas. The two I would actually publish are Framer (default) and Webflow (when Designer control is the job).

Which of these eight ships the agency one-pager?

Ship today in Framer or Durable; Webflow only if you accept a slower Designer pass. Durable's Launch card still says get online in 30 seconds, and Framer Basic already includes a custom domain at $10/mo yearly.

A headless CMS is the wrong category here. You need a hosted URL, not an API.

Clico is on this list because buyers keep dumping "AI agents" into website-builder queries. It is a Chrome, Mac, and Web agent, not a site.

How did we score time-to-publish on 17 August 2026?

Eight official pricing pages were opened on 17 August 2026; Webflow's page failed a direct fetch. Framer's numbers matched the first-hand ledger: Free $0, Basic $10/mo, Pro $30/mo, extra editor $20, locale $20, Convert $50 per 500k events, Basic 1,000 agent credits, Pro 3,000.

No stopwatch bake-off. No dummy domains.

The job was one page. Not a store. Not a Next.js app an AI coding agent should own.

  1. Hero with a named agency, one sentence of offer, one primary button.
  2. Three service cards with a heading, two lines of body, and a secondary link each.
  3. A form with name, email, and a 200-character brief field.
  4. A custom domain path on a paid plan (Free subdomains were scored as "not published").
  5. A second pass that changes the hero headline and swaps card two without regenerating the whole page.

Durable still leads with 30 seconds and 3,000,000+ businesses. Vendor claim. That is why it ranks for speed, not because we clocked a dummy publish. Time bands above stay ordinal: vendor-instant, same sitting, same day, or fail.

What do the eight paid plans cost today?

Paid starts run from Framer Basic at $10/mo to Replo Pro at $499/mo on annual billing. Those figures are list prices from official pages on 17 August 2026, not promo codes.

Appy.AI only advertised $100 in free credits on the Hamilton page. I did not invent a monthly SKU.

Clico$0, 200 credits/moPro $19.90/mo, 2,000 creditsMax $49.90/mo, 5,000 creditsNot a website host

Jace showed Plus at $25/mo or $20 yearly (10,000 credits, two inboxes) and Pro at $50/mo or $40 yearly (20,000 credits, eight inboxes). That is inbox software. It does not belong in the paid-start column.

A one-pager on Framer Basic is $120/year before add-ons. Add one extra editor and one locale and you are at $10 + $20 + $20 = $50/mo.

Durable Launch at $22/mo yearly is cheaper if you never touch HTML. Replo Starter at $99/mo annual is an ads budget, not a brochure budget.

Can you edit the AI output without fighting the canvas?

The $10 canvas pick is Framer, and its draft lands on a surface you can poke. Agents share the workspace credit pool (1,000/mo on Basic, 3,000/mo on Pro). A sloppy regenerate loop is how you burn the month.

The prompt below is the scoring brief.

text
One-page studio site for North Quay Studio, a 4-person product studio.
Hero: "We ship the page before the deck." Primary button: Book a 20-min intro.
Three cards: Brand sites, product marketing pages, design systems. Two lines each.
Form: name, work email, 200-character brief. Footer with a London locale note.
Do not invent case-study logos. After generate, I will rewrite the hero by hand.

Durable will give you the URL first. Its own FAQ says it is a no-code product and does not offer extensive HTML customization, so the second pass (swap card two, keep the rest) is where teams get stuck.

Webflow is the opposite tax. The May 2026 Site plans folded the old CMS and Business tiers into Premium at $25/mo yearly. Free still caps you at two static pages and 50 form submissions on a .webflow.io host.

Designer is why agencies stay. It is also why Webflow is slower than Framer for this one-pager.

Wix ADI is gone. Wix retired it for new sites on 10 November 2024. The live surface is Wix's AI website builder / Harmony, with Aria in the hybrid editor. The brand tax is the Wix URL until you pay.

Replo Sites is a chat that returns a live URL. The Theme Editor still sits on Shopify. Fine for an ad lander. Wrong default for a studio brochure. The ecommerce AI question is a different post.

Marblism Walter and Appy.AI Hamilton ship through conversation. There is no canvas to fight because there is no canvas. Clico never starts the job.

How should you choose among these eight?

Pay for Framer unless Shopify ads, a same-morning URL, or Designer-level CMS is the actual job. That rule is cheaper than another free-tier graveyard.

SEO tooling waits until the URL exists.

If the "site" is an app in a repo, stop. That is coding agents and agent frameworks.

A talking-head hero belongs in video and voice tools. Not in this table.

What is each tool not for?

Five of eight fail once you leave their niche: Clico has no site and Replo starts at $99. The rest fail in smaller ways.

Read the disqualifier before you trial.

  1. Framer is not a free custom-domain host. Free is a Framer domain, 500 try credits, and 1 GB. Agents share workspace credits (1,000 on Basic, 3,000 on Pro).
  2. Durable is not a design-system workshop. Durable says it does not offer extensive HTML customization. Skip it if card two must be a custom component.
  3. Webflow is not a 30-second brochure. Free is two static pages and 50 form submissions. Basic at $15/mo yearly has no CMS; Premium at $25/mo yearly is the content plan.
  4. Wix Harmony is not Wix ADI. ADI is retired. Light at $17/mo yearly displayed is still a Wix-shaped site with Wix apps, not a portable codebase.
  5. Replo is not a $10 studio page. Starter is $99/mo annual (or $119/mo on the Shopify listing) and assumes a store or ad funnel.
  6. Marblism is not a visual editor. Walter is one employee in a suite priced from $24/mo yearly with 50 hours of AI work.
  7. Appy.AI Hamilton is not a documented Site plan. The Hamilton page advertised $100 free credits and a Slack brief. No monthly SKU was on that page on 17 August 2026.
  8. Clico is not a website builder. Jace is not one either. Plus $20/mo yearly drafts email. It does not publish a hero.

Buy those last two when you want an agent or an inbox. Do not buy them to satisfy a "best AI website builders" search.

Which builder would I pay for tomorrow?

I would put a card on Framer Basic at $10/mo yearly and ship the one-pager there.

That is the only $10 row that gives a custom domain and a canvas I can finish by hand. Durable is faster. Webflow is more controllable. Neither is the default for this job.

The SaaS launch stack still lists Framer as the landing-page layer for a reason. Flip only on a concrete condition. The form is a separate purchase. Cutting the same demo into a week of posts is its own workflow.

  1. Flip to Webflow Premium ($25/mo yearly) when the page is about to become a CMS-backed marketing site and Designer is the daily tool.
  2. Flip to Durable Launch ($22/mo yearly) when the URL must exist before a sales call today and nobody will touch HTML this quarter.
  3. Flip to Replo Starter ($99/mo annual) only when the page is a Shopify lander with A/B sessions, not a studio brochure.
  4. Do not flip to Clico, Jace, or an unpublished Appy.AI SKU for this job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Wix ADI still one of the best AI website builders?

No. Wix retired ADI for new sites on 10 November 2024. The current product is Harmony, the hybrid AI editor. Light still displayed $17/mo on yearly billing on 17 August 2026. Location and GST change the checkout number.

Is Framer free enough to publish a real site?

No. Free is a Framer domain, 500 try credits, and 1 GB. Custom domain starts on Basic at $10/mo yearly. Extra editors are $20/mo. A locale is $20. Convert is $50 per 500k events. Treat Free as a design file with a preview URL.

Is Webflow an AI website builder or a Designer with AI bolted on?

Both. Designer is why you pay. Free still limits you to two static pages, 50 form submissions, and a .webflow.io host. Basic is $15/mo yearly. Premium is $25/mo yearly after the May 2026 plan merge. Use it for that canvas, not for a 30-second URL.

Is Clico (or Jace) actually a website builder?

No. Clico sells Chrome, Mac, and Web Agent access from $0 / $19.90 / $49.90. Jace sells inbox drafts from $20/mo yearly (Plus) or $40/mo yearly (Pro). Neither hosts your one-pager. They are on the partner list. They do not ship sites.

When should I skip all of these and use a headless CMS?

Skip them when the page is an application surface, a 23-language content pipeline, or a design system that must live in git. That is the headless CMS decision. These eight (minus Clico) sell a hosted marketing URL. Different buyer, different failure mode.
